Collaboration

Along with its “boots on the ground” approach, working directly with children and families, FC-CIS is able to use firsthand knowledge of the issues facing individual communities and then use its network to gather thought leaders, government officials, local and state experts, entrepreneurs, executives, nonprofit directors, and others to identify and implement programs or policy.

Past collaborations have involved working with local businesses and the university to create educational field trips or major initiatives like the creation of the Head Start program, the Early Learning Center, or Classic City High School. Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens is a partnership of more than 100 organizations working with families to improve outcomes for all children in Athens. Our work depends on our partners. Indeed, we are our partners — the organizations, the projects, the families doing the work.

Here are links to some of our organizational partners (divided by public & nonprofit local, Dine Out For Kids restaurants, venues & artists providing benefits, additional business supporters, state partners, national partners)
